Aotearoa – A Journey Through New Zealand
A lifetime ago it seems now I lived in a wonderful, mythical land called .. New Zealand. People often ask, “What was it like?” or nowadays, “Is it just like the Hobbit?” And my answer is always the same, “No,” I say, “It has a lot more beer.” But seriously folks…
This short film by Nathan Kaso captures the beauty and just plain gorgeousness and gorgosity of Aotearoa (the Māori name for New Zealand). In all honesty I could watch this over and over and never be bored. FYI – I’ve been to every one of these places and am a better person for it.

This film is a combination of time lapse and video shot over two weeks while exploring the South Island of New Zealand. Locations include Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wanaka, Kinloch, Glenorchy, Fox Glacier, Mount Cook National Park, Twizel, Lindis Pass and Haast Pass.
Also, contrary to popular belief, the entire time I was in New Zealand I was not harassed once by a Nazgûl. I did meet an Orc once, but that’s another story.
